The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation in reference to a shooting that occurred on Sunday night at approximately 10:30.  A call was received of shots being fired near a rental property on Falcon Ridge Drive in the Leesville Lake community of Gretna.

Prior to the arrival of deputies, a victim was transported by private vehicle to the Centra Emergency Department in Gretna where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The victim has been identified as Jonathan Robertson, 28, of Pittsville.  The victim’s body has been transported to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
