A Henry County task force is reviewing evidence in the 2002 murders of the Short family and Sheriff Lane Perry tells the Henry County Enterprise he is hopeful the investigation will result in an arrest. The bodies of Michael Short and his wife Mary were found inside their Bassett home and their daughter was found dead in Rockingham County a few months later. Perry tells the newspaper he’s always felt there’s people with key information who haven’t come forward.
