DANVILLE, Va. – Danville firefighters responded to two calls overnight.

The first came from the 800 block of Lee Street around 11:45 p.m. Units responded to a report of a structure fire and found flames in the crawl space of the home. Firefighters cleared from the scene around 2 a.m.The cause is under investigation.

The second call was received about 1:25 a.m. Wednesday from the Halifax Road. That fire was also confined to the crawl space of the residence and was electrical in nature. The meter was pulled and there were no injuries.

Both families are being assisted this morning by the American Red Cross.
