HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. – A fire at a Halifax County lumber yard is now under control.

Firefighters from Liberty, Brookneal and Halifax responded to a fire at Adams Lumber on Highway 501 in Nathalie a little before 2 Thursday morning.

The main office building was fully ablaze when the first units reached the scene and the roof of the structure had collapsed. They couldn’t save the building but kept the flames from spreading.

The business is located on L.P. Bailey Memorial Highway in Halifax County.
