DANVILLE, VA — The company that operates Goodwill stores in the Danville region has filed for bankruptcy but says it has no plans to close any stores at this time.
According to the website for Goodwill Industries of South Central Virginia — the company that owns the Goodwill stores in Danville, Pittsylvania and Halifax Counties — they hope to merge with other area Goodwill operations.
A statement posted to its website said Goodwill Industries of South Central Virginia has operated in the area for 46 years, but has recently fallen on hard times.
The company says that all local stores will remain open and services will continue to be offered during the reorganization process.
