(Danville, Va.) — Power was restored to about 2,700 Danville Utilities customers Wednesday afternoon following a brief outage.

City spokesman Arnold Hendrix says trouble shooters are still trying to pinpoint the cause of the electrical outage, which affected all customers served by the Bridge Street substation.

The outage was reported at about 1:30 p.m. and full power was restored about two hours later.

Much of downtown Danville was affected, including Lynn, Wilson and Ridge streets to Memorial Drive, Main Street and up the east side of North Main Street to Third Avenue.
