(Lynchburg, VA) – The former CEO of Lynchburg based Centra Medical Group has been cleared of inappropriate behavior allegations after an internal investigation.  E.W. Tibbs had a complaint filed against him in 2017 by a former nurse, Stephanie Hale alleging Tibbs stalked and sexually assaulted her in a Lynchburg hotel.

Tibbs who stepped down from the hospital now works in Michigan, while Hale still has a suit pending seeking $10 million in damages.  Centra employed a third-party company to look into the allegations and their report was released at the end of March.  According to the investigation, there was also no evidence of sexual behavior towards any current or former Centra employee. There was also no evidence found suggesting Tibbs inappropriately accessed employee contact information for unauthorized use.

Following the release of the findings Centra Medical stated that it would, “defend itself against what we believe, based on this review, are merit less claims.” In regards to the lawsuit.
