(Halifax, Va.) — A Danville man charged with murdering his grandfather is on trial in a Halifax County courtroom.

The trial for Journy Lee Snead began Monday in Halifax County Circuit Court and is expected to continue through the week.

He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of-75-year-old Floyd Crider. The retired drywall contractor was found dead of a head injury in his home on July 19, 2018.

His wife and Snead’s grandmother, Gloria Jean Crider, is charged with soliciting the murder of her husband. She remains jailed and will be tried at a later date.
