(Danville, Va.) — A Danville teen has been charged with shooting into an occupied building in an incident police say was in retaliation for Sunday’s murder on Arnett Blvd.

The incident happened the 300 block of Juless St. at about 5:10 Sunday afternoon, little more than an hour after an 17-year-old was slain in what police describe as a gang-related homicide in front of 741 Arnett Blvd. 5-10 shots fired and several bullets struck an occupied home. No one inside the residence was injured.

Investigators developed 19-year-old O’Bryan Daquan King of Danville as a suspect. Police obtained a warrant on King for shooting into an occupied dwelling. According to police, evidence indicates that the shooting on Juless St. was likely in retaliation for the earlier homicide. In a statement, police said “King is not currently considered a suspect in the homicide.” He is still being sought by authorities.

Evidence indicates there are gang elements to both the homicide on Arnett Blvd. and the shooting on Juless St.
