(Danville, Va.) — Danville Police were called to the scene of a fatal shooting in the 700 block of Arnett Boulevard Sunday afternoon.

Investigators cordoned off the area with yellow crime scene tape shortly before 4 p.m. and confirmed that the case is being carried as a homicide.

Police responded to 741 Arnett Boulevard after receiving a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, a 17-year-old male was found dead. Multiple rounds were fired and police cones dotted the street as investigators recovered shell casings at the crime scene.

Virginia State Police are assisting in the investigation.
