(Halifax, Va.) — Virginia State Police say one man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Halifax County.

The crash happened around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday on Route 360 at the intersection of Route 613.

The state trooper who investigated said a moped was traveling east when it was hit by a logging truck.

56-year-old Randall S. Waterbury of Scottsburg was operating the moped. He died at the scene of head injuries. Waterbury was wearing a helmet.

The tractor-trailer driver, James W. Martin of Brookneal, was not injured. He was driving for H&M Logging.

The crash remains under investigation.
