(Morgantown, WV) – The man sought for the attempted murder of a Bluefield, Virginia police officer last month has been killed in a shootout with U.S. Marshals in West Virginia.
A $25,000 reward had been offered for 25-year-old Donquale “DJ” Gray, who opened fire on an officer during a traffic stop near Bluefield, VA on February 17th. The officer has since been treated and released from an area hospital.
Authorities say Gray opened fire Wednesday afternoon during a foot chase as U.S. Marshals were closing in on him. At least one marshal shot back, and Gray was found dead.
The confrontation happened in Morgantown, near West Virginia University.
