(Rockingham County, NC.) – A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a car in Rockingham County.

The crash happened Saturday night near Liveoak Road just south of Eden. 29-year-old Brittany Cochran of Greensboro was walking along Highway 14 just before 8 p.m. when she struck by a car traveling in the southbound lane.

The driver, 46-year-old Shenitta Peterkin of Stoneville, hasn’t been charged but the investigationis continuing. Peterkin had minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

Cochran was taken to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital for serious injuries, where she remains in critical condition.
