(Hurt, Va.) — The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office has identified the three people killed in a Friday night shooting incident in the Hurt community as 42-year-old Twana Davis; her husband, 44-year-old Jason Davis, and their 12-year-old son.

Two others were wounded, 64-year-old Patricia R. Poindexter and Deborah I. Rhodes, 62. Patricia Poindexter is the mother of Twana Rhodes Davis and Deborah Rhodes is Twana’s aunt. Both were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital. Both are being treated for gunshot wounds and both are expected to recover. Investigators say the two drove themselves away from the shooting scene and sought help at the B & B Community Store on Blue Ridge Drive in Hurt.

Investigators learned that the shootings occurred at 3197 Shula Drive in Hurt. When they arrived at the scene they found three people dead from gunshot wounds inside the home.

The sheriff’s office says women identified the shooter as Jason Davis, who was among those found dead inside the residence. The only firearm in the house was located near Jason Davis’ body.
