A former juvenile detention employee in Danville has been sentenced for an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile inmate. Yesterday, 42-year-old Wendy Warren was sentenced to 30 months in prison for the inappropriate relationship.
Warren was arrested on February 23 after a report was received on February 10 about the possible inappropriate relationship. Warren was then fired on February 12.
An investigation revealed that between August 2022 and July 2023 Warren engaged in non-forcible sexual contact with a then 15-year-old male who was in custody at the W.W. Moore, Jr. Juvenile Detention Home. Warren had been employed there as a youth care worker for nine years.
Warren pled guilty in April to two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by person in custodial or supervisory relationship and one count of carnal knowledge of certain minors.
