
A Halifax man was killed in a shooting in Lynchburg on Monday night. According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded at 8:20 pm to Millwood Apartments at 6224 Old Mill Rd. for a shots fired call.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, later identified as 22-year-old Daysun Wilson, of Halifax, was transported by personal vehicle to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
Through the initial investigation, LPD detectives determined the victim and suspect in this case were known to each other. During an altercation between the two, the suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Ke John McGhee, of Richmond, produced a handgun and shot the victim.
McGhee has been charged with:
• Second Degree Murder
• Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Murder
McGhee’s whereabouts are currently unknown. He is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. LPD is actively working with regional law enforcement partners to locate McGhee.
