Four people were arrested in Altavista on drug charges over the weekend. According to the Altavista Police Department, on Saturday,  an officer was on patrol when he observed an individual, known to have an outstanding warrant, enter a residence on 13th Street.

After a backup officer arrived on scene, officers made contact at the residence and located the individual, identified as Chase Guyann Arthur, 24, of Chatham.

A subsequent investigation resulted in officers obtaining and executing a search warrant for the residence and its occupants. During the search, officers recovered approximately 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 2 grams of suspected crack cocaine.

Arthur was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance. Additionally 57-year-old Rhonda Shelton, of Altavista, 57-year-old Michael Glenn, of Altavista, and 60-year-old William Glenn of Altavista were all arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.
