A woman and a child were killed in a crash in Pittsylvania County on Friday afternoon. Virginia State Police say the crash occurred at 2:30 pm at the intersection of Halifax Road and Spring Garden Road.

A Ford F350 was driving westbound on Halifax Road and was not able to avoid a Honda Accord at the intersection with Spring Garden Road. The F350 hit the Accord on the driver side of the vehicle, according to State Police.

Two people in the Honda were killed, the 46-year-old female driver and a four-year-old girl. Their identities have not been released at this time. The driver of the F350 was not hurt.
