The Danville Planning Commission has recommended approval of a new skate shop and indoor skate park. Christian Simmons is planning to open Grind Bike & Skate at 601 Craghead Street.

The property is a 7,800 square foot facility. 5,000 square feet will be used for the retail store, while the other 2,800 feet will be used for the skate park.

The facility will operate as a fee-based use offering day passes and memberships. All associated ramps and skate park features will be subject to the Virginia Uniform Building Code.

Danville City Council will vote on the proposed store and skate park on March 4.
