There were no injuries during a structure fire in Danville early Friday morning. At 2:25 am, the Danville Fire Department received a call for a reported structure fire at 327 West Main Street.
Three engines, one ladder truck, one battalion chief, one safety officer, and two support vehicles from the Danville Life Saving Crew along with the Danville Police Department responded. On arrival, the first unit reported nothing showing from outside the structure and went to investigate.
Four occupants were located outside the structure on arrival. Crews found smoke and a small amount of fire located in the basement area of the structure. A handline was pulled to the rear of the structure, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
A melted water line in the basement helped in the extinguishment of the fire. The basement area of the structure suffered moderate smoke, fire, and water damage.
Units remain on scene for two hours, removing smoke and assisting the occupants. The occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
