One person was injured during a shooting in Martinsville on Monday night. According to the Martinsville Police Department, at 7:38 pm officers responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Spruce Street and Finley Street.

Upon arrival, officers located multiple spent cartridge casings at the scene. Around the same time, a 42-year-old Martinsville man arrived at the SOVAH Health emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Investigators processed the scene and interviewed the victim. He was treated and later released from the hospital.
