Madison Whittle has beaten fellow Danville City Councilman Dr. Gary Miller in the election for the 49th District Seat in the Virginia House of Delegates. Whittle won by just under 2,000 votes and with just over 53% of the votes.

Whittle will succeed Delegate Danny Marshall, who announced earlier this year that he would not seek reelection after representing the 49th District for 23 years.
