The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for a suspect in a possible shooting that occurred in Hurt. At 12:02 pm, the Pittsylvania County 911 Dispatch Center received a call at 3696 Shua Drive in Hurt reference a subject being shot.

Upon arrival Deputies discovered an altercation had occurred between family members where firearms were involved and one subject 59-year-old Ellis Wayne Lambert Jr of Flat Top Cove Rd.  was possibly shot and ran from the residence into the woods.

Deputies are actively searching for Lambert with assistance from Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, Hurt PD and Gretna PD. Ellis is considered armed and dangerous.

Should someone see or know the whereabouts of Ellis do not approach and call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-791-0044. Callers may remain anonymous and could receive up to $5,000 cash reward upon the arrest and conviction of the alleged suspect.

Lambert Jr. is wanted on charges of failure to appear, possession of a firearm while a protective order is in effect, and brandishing a firearm.
