A missing Iowa juvenile was located at a home in Reidsville and a man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Fairfield Police Department in Iowa notified them about a missing female juvenile.

Through their investigation, Fairfield Police learned the juvenile had been in contact with a male subject through texting applications, and that the juvenile had been picked up by that individual in Fairfield Iowa, and transported to Rockingham County, NC.

The female juvenile was located by Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Deputies at 837 Willow St. in Reidsville, NC, along with 25-year-old John Michael Johnson. Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, and The Rockingham County Department of Social Services responded and began their investigation into the matter.

Subsequently, Johnson was interviewed, and after consultation with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office, was charged with Felony Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, and Felony Solicitation by Computer.

Johnson was taken before a Magistrate where he was given a $850,000.00 secure bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on August 26, 2025. The juvenile’s parents were notified, and the juvenile is at this time in the care of the Rockingham County Department of Social Services pending the parent’s arrival to assume custody.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
