A man was arrested in Rockingham County on Monday on domestic assault charges. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 808 Guerrant Springs Rd in Ruffin, NC in reference to an assault.

Upon arrival the female was contacted and had sustained recent injuries from an apparent assault. Deputies obtained enough probable cause to charge 34-year-old Keith Allen Mitchell with Assault by Pointing a Gun, Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Assault, Assault on a Female, and Communicating Threats.

Mitchell had left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, he was later contacted and taken into custody at another location. Mitchell was arrested and taken before the Magistrate where, he was placed in the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility under no bond.
