Average gas prices across Virginia are up by a penny this week compared to last week to $2.96 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by two cents to $3.12 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville is down by two pennies this week to $2.78, while the average price in Pittsylvania County remained the same this week at $2.89 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by a nickel this week to $2.87 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is down by four cents for the second week in a row to $2.85. Prices in Halifax County dropped by a nickel this week down to $2.83 a gallon.
