A man accused of a homicide in Martinsville had his charges dismissed this week. 23-year-old Jahil Arman Martin, of Greensboro, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in February 2025 for the shooting death of 20-year-old Nyjeon Brandon that occurred in July of 2023. 

Police say that Martin and Brandon knew each other and they feel the homicide was premeditated.

The homicide occurred on July 9, 2023, at 2:25 am when a vehicle that Brandon was a passenger in was shot into while traveling in the 300 block of Commonwealth Blvd.

The shooting was caught on camera, however the judge dismissed the charges because the video alone was not enough to convict Martin and possible witnesses wouldn’t cooperate.
