Averett University has listed the President’s Home for sale and are now holding an online benefit auction in an effort to raise funds. The auction features over 300 items from the President’s home and the Conway House, Averett University’s online Benefit Auction includes numerous pieces of artwork, classic and antique furniture and china, along with other beloved household items.

The 12 day auction is currently open online and an in person viewing event will be held this Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm at 500 Hawthorne Drive. The online auction will be open until April 29th. To view the online auction click here.

The benefit auction comes on the heels of Averett making numerous moves to make up for a budget shortfall. The school has filed a suit against the former CFO, Donald Aungst, and Global Strategic Investment Solutions for mismanaging $20 million in funds. 

The school has also listed the equestrian center for sale, made staffing cuts, and dropped six academic programs.
