(Danville, Va.) — A problem with a transmission line caused power outages for about 7,500 customers in Danville Tuesday morning. Officials say the outage was caused by a failed lightning arrester.
The transmission line that feeds the substations that serve in the north Danville and Mount Hermon area was down for several hours but the Tunstall, Whitmell and White Oak substations were all back in service by mid-day Tuesday.
The outage was reported about 6:30 Tuesday morning.
