Last night Danville City Council unanimously approved a new proposed hotel downtown. Dan Hotel River St LLC, is planning to build a new hotel at 100 River Street.

The proposed hotel is a four-story, 120 room Hyatt Studio at the location with a total investment of $30 million.

100 River Street contains a lot with frontage on the Dan River. Therefore, a Special Use Permit was necessary prior to construction.

The Danville Planning Commission had previously unanimously recommended approval of the proposed hotel.
