
Danville Utilities says that crews are working to restore approximately 800 outages in the Callands and Dry Fork areas. The outages were caused by trees that fell overnight from the freezing rain.
According to the Danville Utilities website there are 1,199 outages across the region as of 9 am on Wednesday.
Pittsylvania County Public Safety reported on Wednesday morning that the 911 center has lost all power. There is no radio for paging or phones working at this time. 911 calls are being routed to Danville.
Reports on social media also say that trees are down across RT 863/R & L Smith Road near RT 41.
