(Danville, Va.) – Power was restored to more than 3,300 Danville homes Thursday night, about ten hours after a tree fell across a power line, snapping a pole.

The outage affected a large area and forced police to block Westover Drive from Westover Lane to Church Avenue until repairs were made.

The outage occurred just after 11 a.m. and affected customers along Westover Drive from Piedmont Drive to Linden Lane and on Riverside Drive from the Windsor Heights subdivision to Parkway Drive.

The pole that was replaced carries two main feeder lines from the Westover Substation.
