The Danville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early on New Year’s Day. The Danville Police Department received a call around 4:40 am Wednesday, from SOVAH Health in regard to a 21-year-old male who drove himself to the SOVAH Health Emergency Department with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his hand.

The incident is reported to have occurred in the area of Riverside Drive and Old Riverside Drive.

This investigation remains ongoing.
