(Danville,Va.)  — Carl Ray Kennedy, the man accused of abducting his seven-month-old baby from outside a Danville convenience store last month, has been returned for trial and made his first court appearance Monday.

The 51-year-old was arraigned in Danville Juvenile and Domestic Court and was ordered held without bond.

Kennedy was the object of a massive manhunt that ended with his arrest in Randolph County, N.C. An AMBER Alert was issued for the toddler after she was pulled from her mother’s car in June. Emma Grace was found in an apartment with her father, unharmed.

After being held in Randolph County Jail in North Carolina for nearly two months, Kennedy was extradited to Danville on Friday.

Kennedy is currently being held in the Danville City Jail, where he faces domestic assault and abduction charges.
