(Danville, Va.) — Danville has a new attraction for hiking fans. Evans Park just opened to the public Saturday. Danville Parks and Rec provided tours of three-mile long trail system and park, which sits on over 100 acres of land.
Kyle Autry says the trails offers a glimpse at a bygone era and snakes around a creek and an old graveyard. Caroline Turner says the city has been working on the trails system in preparation for the grand opening and says the densely forested park gives trail fans the chance to “imerse yourself in nature.”
The land was donated to the city by the Evans family. Evans Park is located off the Eagle Springs Road.
