The Piedmont Broadcasting Corporation sports team brought home two awards from the 2025 Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters Awards over the weekend.
Ryan Stone won First Place for Best Sports Play-by-play for the GW and Sherando Regional Semifinal Game. Stone and Brandon Burnett won Second Place for Best Sports Operation for coverage of GW football and our URW High School Football Scoreboard Show.
Winners were announced at the Awards Luncheon and Annual Membership Meeting at Hotel Madison & Shenandoah Conference Center in Harrisonburg, Va. Thirty-seven news organizations in Virginia and West Virginia submitted 598 entries in the contest, which featured news and sports stories from 2025.
