Average gas prices across Virginia shot up by 21 cents this week to $3.51 a gallon, according to AAA, while the average price of gas across the county is up by 24 cents this week to $3.71.

The average price of gas in Danville rose by 19 cents this week to $3.32, while the average in Pittsylvania County climbed up by  30 cents this week to $3.40 a gallon. The average price in Martinsville is up by 16 cents this week to $3.38 a gallon and in Henry County the average price climbed up by 22 cents this week to $3.35 a gallon. The average price in Halifax County is up by a quarter this week to $3.47 a gallon.
