Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred Monday at 2:24 pm on Sinai Road in Halifax County.

A 2005 GMC Envoy was travelling eastbound on Sinai Road, two-tenths of a mile east of Cassada Lane, when the Envoy ran off of the right side of the road.   The vehicle then hit the embankment and overturned.

The driver of the Envoy, Brenda A. Hurt, 63, of Halifax, Va., was ejected and died at the scene.  Hurt was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
