Danville City Council has appointed former Virginia House of Delegates member Danny Marshall to its vacant seat. Marshall will fill the seat vacated by Madison Whittle after he was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in November.

Marshall was selected over Shakeva Frazier and Shelby Irving after City Council conducted interviews. Marshall previously served on Danville City Council from 2000 to 2001. Marshall then served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2024.
