God’s Pit Crew is extending its Immediate Response deployment to Northeast Mississippi as the overwhelming level of need continues following the recent ice storm that severely impacted the region.  Originally scheduled to conclude on February 11, the deployment has now been extended through February 16, due to the critical and ongoing needs of affected families and communities.

In just a handful of days, God’s Pit Crew has received more than 740 requests for assistance, many involving life-altering and dangerous conditions.  These requests range from extensive tree damage crushing homes and leaving families without adequate shelter, to households without electricity – some of which rely on power to operate essential medical equipment.

God’s Pit Crew Immediate Response volunteers will continue serving in Tippah County and surrounding areas assisting with critical needs such as damaged and fallen tree removal, roof tarping, debris cleanup, and providing emotional and spiritual support to families navigating the aftermath of the storm.

Volunteers are urgently needed for the extended deployment, and individuals willing to serve are strongly encouraged to sign up using the “Mississippi Response button” located at GodsPitCrew.org.  With hundreds of requests still unmet, additional volunteers are essential to help ensure as many families as possible receive timely assistance.

Alongside volunteer efforts, God’s Pit Crew has deployed multiple tractor-trailer loads of critical relief supplies into impacted communities throughout Mississippi and Tennessee.  These shipments include pallets of generators, Blessing Buckets filled with more than 30 essential relief items, bottled water, and shelf-stable food to help meet immediate survival needs.
