The City of Danville’s Information Technology Department has launched an updated version of its Parcel Viewer application, offering a more intuitive, user-friendly experience. Powered by Esri’s MapInsights platform, the redesigned interface makes it easier than ever to access and explore property information.

The updated Parcel Viewer includes several key enhancements designed to streamline navigation and improve usability:

  • Unified toolbar: Essential tools—including the Basemap Gallery, Adjoiners, Map Layers, Select Parcels, Measurement, Draw, Bookmarks, Coordinates, and Print—are now accessible from a single, streamlined toolbar.
  • Improved parcel details: Selecting a parcel opens a compact Property Information card in a pop-up window. Users can view a full-sized, printable version by selecting “View Parcel Details.”
  • Advanced search options: A new “Advanced Search/Parcel List” feature allows detailed searches by Parcel ID, owner name, address, legal description, zoning, sale date, sale price, and land use or use codes.
  • Comprehensive help resources: Built-in help documentation is now available to guide users through all map tools and features.

“A lot of the functionality will feel familiar, but the experience is much smoother,” said Scott Longerbeam, GIS coordinator for the Information Technology Department. “The unified toolbar brings everything into one place, and the layout is cleaner and easier to read, which makes finding parcel information quicker and more intuitive.”

Additional features are in development to expand access to aerial imagery and are expected to be released soon.
