
The Danville Fire Department responded to a house fire on Friday night. Crews responded to the fire at 1425 Claiborne Street at 9:23 pm.
Upon arrival crews found smoke showing on the main floor and in the basement.. Crews made entry to search for any possible victims while a second crew searched for and located the fire in the basement under a fireplace.
The fire was determined to be the result of a faulty fireplace. No victims were found and the fire was quickly extinguished.
The Danville Fire Departments Fire Marshalls Division investigated and determined the cause to be accidental. No injuries were reported. Three engines , one ladder truck, a safety officer and a Battalion Chief were on the scene for three hours.
