A man has been indicted on multiple counts of credit card theft in Danville following an investigation that began last year. According to the Danville Police Department, 35-year-old Florin Doroiman was indicted by a Danville Grand Jury with 62 counts of credit card theft on Monday.

In February 2025, the Danville Police Department received information that a credit card skimmer was discovered inside Walmart at 515 Mt. Cross Road after it detached from one of the store’s card readers. One skimmer was located, and no additional skimmers were found.

It was determined the skimmer was placed on a single card reader at a register in the store. There are no indications any of the captured card information on the skimmer was used for fraudulent transactions.

After learning of other incidents across Virginia, investigators collaborated with other jurisdictions including local law enforcement agencies and the United States Secret Service on the case.

The investigation remains ongoing.
