An arrest has been made following a shooting in Altavista on Sunday. According to the Altavista Police Department, at 10:40 am officers, with assistance from the Campbell County and Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Offices, responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of 8th Street.

A victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound following an altercation with another resident.

21-year-old Antonio Deshaun Hunt, of Altavista, has been arrested and charged with multiple firearm-related offenses, including Malicious Wounding. He is currently being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

The victim was transported to a local medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
