A school bus driver in Martinsville has been charged following a crash involving a pedestrian on Thursday. According to the Martinsville Police Department, officers responded to the crash at 12:34 pm at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and East Church Street.

A 49-year-old female resident of Martinsville was struck by a Martinsville City school bus while crossing Cleveland Avenue at the intersection. Martinsville EMS transported the pedestrian to Sovah Health Martinsville, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Following an investigation, Martinsville Police have charged the bus driver with  Failure to Yield Right-of-Way to a Pedestrian at an Intersection.
