A Pittsylvania County man died after being hit by a car outside of Richmond last week. According to Henrico Police, the incident occurred on Sunday, November 23 at 7:45 pm at Brook Road and Bridgeport Avenue.

36-year-old Austin Chance Ratcliff was hit by a car while trying to cross the road. The driver then fled the scene.

Ratcliff died from his injuries on Tuesday, November 27 at a local hospital. No arrests have been made, however a vehicle of interest has been taken into custody.

Henrico Police say they are still investigating the circumstances and cause of the crash.
