Virginia State Police is investigating a single vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality.  The crash occurred Thursday, (Nov 27) at 7:45 pm on Level Run Road, three tenths of a mile east of Moods Road in Pittsylvania County.

A 2020 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling west on Level Run Road, when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, down an embankment and struck the trees.

The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Corey Deangelo Davis, 36, of Altavista, Va. Davis was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Centra Gretna Medical Center, where he later died.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
