Caswell County Schools have received a large grant for renovations at an elementary school. North Carolina’s Needs-Based Public School Capital Fund (NBPSCF) has awarded $18.8 million to Caswell County Schools for the complete renovation of Oakwood Elementary School.
The grant will be used to address major safety and operational issues currently affecting the learning environment and provide students with a modern, safe facility.
The award is part of a $392 million distribution announced by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to ten school districts across the state. The NBPSCF was created by the General Assembly in 2017 to provide lottery-funded grants to economically distressed counties for school construction and renovation projects.
