(Halifax County, VA) –  A man went missing in Halifax County just after 8am Saturday morning. According to the caller her husband who suffers from cognitive decline was missing from the family home.

Deputies responded quickly including Corporal Garber and his K9 office Gus. Authorities began their search and by 9:20am the team lead by k9 Gus located the missing man in a wooded area roughly one mile from home.

According to the WSET the department’s statement discussing the swift rescue, “this successful outcome is a testament to the teamwork, professionalism, and partnership among local law enforcement agencies working together to keep our community safe.”
