(Danville, VA) – Danville Public Schools has named their 2027 Teacher of the year recipient Woodberry Hills Reading Specialist Robyn Brandon. Ms. Brandon has been teaching for 8 years with a bachelor’s from Old Dominion and Master’s from Averett.

Before joining Danville Public Schools Brandon taught in Uganda for the Peace Corps. At Woodberry, she is the Lead Mentor, the MTSS Team Leader, the Praise Report Chair, a PBIS committee member, and a Wolfpack Newsletter committee member.

In the community, she has served as a reading specialist with the Danville Church and Community Tutorial Program and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Danville Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Angela Hairston said of Brandon’s selection, “We are so proud of Ms. Brandon. Her dedication and passion are clear in her everyday work. We are honored to have her at Danville Public Schools.”
